The Circuit-33 Story

In March of 2007 a group of musically-inclined friends in Southern California got together to play 3 songs for a 10 minute spot on a small private talent show.  We got so many compliments, and had such a good time performing, that we decided to continue together and form an actual band.  Since that time there have been a couple of changes in personnel and in our band name.  After much debating and deliberation in choosing our new name, we unanimously decided on Circuit-33.

Circuit-33 is a very diversified Rock & Roll cover band with the ability to play a surprisingly wide range of musical styles.  We play songs by The Beatles, Doobie Brothers, Journey, Counting Crows, The Police, Neil Young, Rush, Cream, Simple Minds, Eric Clapton, U2, The Doors, Incubus, Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fighters, The Romantics, REM, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Clash, REO Speedwagon, Bad Company, and many more.

We are known to be a ‘family friendly’ band, being careful to avoid songs with offensive lyrics.  But this does not mean we are afraid to play loud when the music calls for it and the venue allows for it!  We Can ROCK!!!

    “Family friendly” says it nicely! And this family is looking forward to seeing some pics from the Marina del Rey Dinner Cruz!

    Tell John the Soundman to post something since we think fondly of him as the 5th or is it the 6th member?!!

    Thanks, Larry. We think fondly of John too, of course we won’t tell HIM that.
    And as I stated on John’s page: “It is amazing just how much electronic sound equipment is required to be put together for one of our shows. And yet, John is always up to the task of Overseeing all of this Circuitry! (I wish I could think of a better title for him, but nothing comes to mind.)” Maybe we’ll just call him the “Soundman” as you did.

    Mom passed this on to me. I remember going to your mom’s and you playing the drums! Who’da thought you’d actually become a Professional??? Hope all is well. Can’t make it to performance on the 14th but keep me posted. You know I’ll be in the front row singing along!

    Thanks Jaie, great to hear from you! I definitely have improved as a drummer since you last saw me as a kid, but I’m not exactly “professional”. (I still can’t quit my day job.)

    You guys are awesome. I’ll come to listen to you again. Brad’s drumming was inspirational to me since I love that stuff. I Love your band. It’s clean but energizing. I’m definitely recommending you all. :-)

    Caught your show Saturday night, was very impressed by how GOOD you guys were, and how much fun you had. I just thought you might want to see if you could add to your play list: ‘Boom, Boom, Out Go the Lights’, by Pat Travers, I think Chris & Dave can handle it. It’s a way to get the crowd into your music MORE! Also: ‘Good Rockin’ Tonight’, by Montrose, maybe as an encore song? Lastly, ‘Blowin’ Free’, by Wishbone Ash. I’ve always liked that song, only you might have to get your sound guy to help out: You need two (2) guitars. That’s all I have. I’ll keep checking back to find your next gig. Good Luck, Carls.

    Boy I tell you, there’s nothing like a pig roast, great friends from all over and CIRCUIT 33 taking us from sunset into the night. It was the best! Everyone had a blast! Thanks for the energetic performance and for making it unforgettable…

    Glad you like it! I’ve been thinking about doing a followup page to the “No Rules for Drum Sets” series on unusually shaped drum shells, and possibly a few of the beautiful Plexiglas varieties.
